Happy Birthday Dad!

Today was my Dad's 79th birthday. He looks great for 79. I hope my skin is that smooth when I'm that age...if I even live that long.
He was actually born on the March 24th, 1929 of the lunar calender. When he immigrated to America and they asked him what his birthday was, he just gave the immigration guy his Chinese birthday and never bothered to correct it. Kind of cool, I think. I'm not really sure how to calculate that far back but does anyone know what day March 24th on the Western calendar was in 1929?
That's my brother in law Andrew and my sister Greta. We had a nice little dinner in Berkeley, then we came home so I could pack. Heading back to HK tomorrow. This was an awesome trip. Went to the film fest, met up with old friends, met very nice and interesting new people, ate good food and found peace in myself. What more could I ask for?

Happy birthday to your dad! He looks really great. The following link provides Western-Lunar calendar conversions (1901 to 2100). A well-done project by the HK government. So information your fans provide are all correct, May 3rd, 1929 was the date. Isn't it great to throw out one question and have tens of people jumping out to answer it? :D

P.S.: A series of sweet posts. Un gros merci!

Oops, forgot to attach this Canto Della Terra sung by Andrea Bocelli as a birthday gift from one of your fans. Hope your parents like it. Andrea becomes blind at 12 years old due to a born glaucoma but never, ever is he being stopped by that. Enjoy.

BTW, did you set a facebook profile yourself? No need to post this comment only if you like the song and would like more people to know it.

Cool that you hang out with your folks! I believe your pop's B-day on the solar calendar is Friday, May 3, 1929....Do a search on the internet to confirm it.

Happy birthday to your dad! I'm envious of his skin too.

Did some calculations and I'm quite sure that your dad's lunar birthday falls on May 3, 1929.

Now you can celebrate both birthdays~

Actually if you go to Mandarin Tools.com it is easy to figure out.
March 24 was not the third month on
the lunar calendar. It was the second as the Lunar New Year began
on Febuary 10,1929 and the year was 18.If you punch in this data
the conversion given is
April 3rd!!
